Screenwriting Glossary of Terms

Pitch

A verbal or written presentation to someone with the means and decision-making ability to read your screenplay. Verbal pitches can be ‘elevator pitches’ (30 seconds – two minutes, as if you shared an elevator with a producer) or as long as 8-10 minutes at a live pitch-fest or virtual pay-to-pitch event. Or 15 minutes to an hour if you scored a meeting.
